Marian H. (Leider) Meek

Marian (Leider) Meek, age 98 was born and raised in Evanston, Illinois to Susan and Frank Leider.  She died on April 24, 2024.   Marian was married to James (Jim) Meek in 1947 and they resided in Morton Grove for nearly their entire married life of 75 years while raising their 10 children together.  Marian was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved nothing more than to raise her children and then keeping in close contact with all of them every day till her passing, she so enjoyed hearing about all of her grandchildren’s activities. Family was everything to her. Marian was preceded in death by her husband Jim, grandsons Gene and John and her siblings; Frank, Eugene and Benjamin Leider, Angeline Hausmann, Marcella Dickman, Evelynn Olsen and Suzanne Wissel. She is survived by her children, Jim (Maxine), Nancie (John) Tracy, Joyce (Bob) Reid, Gene (Diane), John (Dianne), Pam (Mick) Becker, Janice (Scott) Harty, Deb (Pete) Conti, Bill (Tina), and Mary (Ted) Stenger; dear grandmother of 22; cherished great grandmother of 25 and great great grandmother of one. Marian’s Catholic faith was deeply important during her life and attended church regularly.  In late years was content to watch mass on her television. Funeral from Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove Wednesday 9:30 a.m. to St. John Brebeuf Church, Mass 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
